THE HIGH SCHOOL OUTREACH EVENT OF THE GREEK UNIVERSITY OF ATHENS

2 March 2016 at BRFAA in Athens (Greece)

Similarly to March 2015, the NEURINOX Project Partner, University of Athens (UOA) has organised an event at the Biomedical Research Foundation of the Academy of Athens hosting approximately 180 final year high school students (age 17-18 years) who have opted to follow a career in science. The 5 hour event will consist of:

            - Presentations on neurodegenerative disease,
            - Stands with stereoscopes/microscopes/lab equipment where they could see C.
elegance, Drosophila, zebrafish, human tissue sections,
            - 3D video on drug design,
            - Visit to the Proteomics/Genomics,
            - Games promoting co-operation and team spirit,
            - Career orientation lectures,
            - Motivational talks.

Around 40 scientists (professors, researchers, post-docs, PhD students, MSc students, laboratory technicians and education specialists) have taken part in the organisation team / speakers / guides ....
